Labelled Independent to offer new projects and services bringing exposure to independent music
In less than a year ‘Labelled Independent – The New Music Podcast’ has gathered a solid base of support in its mission to bring additional exposure to independent artists and labels. The podcast, now released twice a month, has featured some of the best independent releases from around the UK since the project was founded, whether produced in bedrooms by small indie artists or expensive studios through established independent labels.
Recently we got to thinking – what else do we have to offer?
Over the coming summer months Labelled Independent are set to launch a number of services for independent acts looking for coverage. Whether it’s simply a case of getting your album reviewed online to gain more exposure, or whether you’re looking for more sizeable opportunities, we’d like to hear from you. Working on the podcast has allowed us to build a growing network of contacts to capitalise on, so we’re sure we can help you
Below is a summary of a few of the services we will be able to offer by the end of the year to suit all budgets. And don’t worry, the podcast that started it all will remain free and unchanged.
RECORDING AND PRODUCTION SERVICES
If you’re an aspiring artist just starting out, we have the equipment to record your new tracks in a venue convenient to you. Whether it’s in your lounge or a purpose built rehearsal space (or anywhere else for that matter), we can bring our portable recording facilities to you at a time and place of your choosing.
Some of the finest independent UK artists have featured on the podcast, and over the next few months we’re looking to compile a collection of the very best for release under the Labelled Independent banner. Chosen tracks will be part of a digital release and be entitled to an equal share of any profits the album makes.
Got a big gig coming up you’d like recorded? We can do it for you. We’ll record your show and supply you with the gig audio in full (and cut down into individual tracks) for use in later releases or promotional campaigns. While we’re there, we’ll do a live gig review for our partner websites to further increase your profile.
THE BOX SETS (video recordings)
Fancy letting people know who you are with a television style interview including live performances? Got a new album coming out? Want the chance to talk directly to your fans? We will record an episode of ‘Labelled Independent – The Box Sets’ with you and release it both on YouTube and as an audio only podcast – great showcases of your talent for potential fans and industry insiders.
We can provide artists with promotional photo shoots and gig shots (live review included) for your website, Facebook page, album covers or anything else required. It’s harder to get famous if people don’t know your face…
It is vitally important for bands in the current industry climate to create and maintain a healthy online presence to capture, grow and engage your fan base. Labelled Independent can work with you to ensure you’re doing everything you can to maximise your online opportunities.
In addition to all of the above there are various other avenues we can explore for you in terms of raising your online profile. We can suit literally ANY budget (starting at £0) and our aim is simple – to help independent music in the UK.

For bands and artists who are literally just starting out we would like to offer you our full package, which we’re calling ‘Labelled Independent – From The Ground Up’. We can start by recording your material, and then use all of the above avenues to create an online presence for you for a one off, flat fee. This, as far as we can tell, is a pretty unique offer which will take you from being an unknown entity to having a noticeable internet profile within a matter of weeks.
